Smoking/Vaping, Drugs & Alcohol Policy
Smoking & Vaping
1. Smoking & Vaping, including all types of Electronic Cigarettes, is not allowed in any part of the SERFC Clubhouse, including the bar, toilets and changing rooms.
2. No person under the age of 18 is allowed to smoke or use Electronic Cigarettes on SERFC premises or grounds.
3. Coaches and Officials are asked to discourage adults from smoking, including the use of all types of Electronic Cigarettes, when watching Mini and Youth Training Sessions and Matches.
Drugs
1. SERFC operates a Zero Tolerance Policy regarding the dealing and/or consumption of illegal drugs on SERFC Club premises or grounds.
2. Any person associated with SERFC who is found taking illegal drugs on SERFC premises or grounds will be:
– Required to leave the SERFC premises and grounds immediately.
– Reported to the police.
– Encouraged to seek counselling and help with any addiction.
Required to attend an internal SERFC Disciplinary Hearing which could result in them being banned from the Club
3. Any person not associated with SERFC who is found taking illegal drugs on SERFC premises or grounds will be:
– Required to leave the SERFC premises and grounds immediately.
– Reported to the police.
– Banned from the Club.
4. Any person who is found dealing illegal drugs on SERFC premises or grounds will be:
– Required to leave the premises immediately.
– Reported to the police. Any evidence (e.g., CCTV footage) will be supplied to the police.
– Banned from the Club.
Sale and Consumption of Alcohol
1. The Club’s Policy is not to allow any person under the age of 18 to consume alcohol on the Club’s premises or grounds, even though The Licensing Act 2003 does allow us to permit individuals aged 16 or 17 to consume beer, wine, or cider with a table meal.
2. Persons under the age of 18 are not allowed to purchase alcohol on SERFC Club premises and people aged 18 or over are not allowed to purchase alcohol for a person under the aged18.
3. Any person under the age of 18 found drinking alcohol on the Club’s premises or grounds will have the drink confiscated and they may be asked to leave the premises and grounds immediately.
4. Any person found purchasing alcohol for, or giving alcohol to, a person under the age of 18 may be asked to leave the premises and grounds immediately.
5. Any individual, if challenged, who can’t prove that they are 18 will not be served alcohol or allowed to consume alcohol on SERFC premises or grounds. The only acceptable Proof of Age Documents are:
a. A valid Passport.
b. A valid Photo Driving License.
c. A valid Proof of Age Scheme Card that carries the PASS Hologram
6. SERFC Club Bar Staff are under instruction from the Committee not to:
a. Sell alcohol to a person who is drunk. Individuals who are drunk and disorderly may be expelled from the Club premises and grounds.
b. Sell alcohol to a person who is obtaining an alcoholic drink for a person who is drunk.
7. Guests are not allowed to bring their own drink into the Club or grounds:
a. Anyone consuming their own drink on club premises will have the drink confiscated.
b. Anyone refusing to allow their drink to be confiscated will be asked to leave the Club’s premises and grounds immediately.
c. Any bottles and cans of drink that have been confiscated will be destroyed.
8. Violent behaviour against SERFC Staff and/or other guests at the Club will result in the individuals involved in the altercation being expelled from the Club.
