Chris Meade RIP

It is with sadness that we inform the members that Chris Meade who played in the three quarters for Sutton in the 60s and 70s died on the 16th of this month from cancer at the age of 76. We offer our condolences to his widow Margaret and to his children Jonathan and Annabel by his first wife Valerie. The funeral will take place at 2.15 pm on Thursday 23rd June at Hexham Abbey, Beaumont St. Hexham NE46 3NB.

Club Tour to Antwerp

After a pleasant crossing of the English moat, the tourists reached Ypres in good spirit and attended the “Closing of the gate” ceremony, after which they performed a personal procession to panel 54 where Club President Rob Knight placed a wreath in honour of all Sutton & Epsom players who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Great War, and in particular the two players whose names are recorded here. …more…

End of an era for our current U18s!

Sunday 1st May saw them take to the field for the last time in the Inaugural Annual Clive Marshall Memorial Match. An enthralling game finished 19-19 in the superb weather at Rugby Lane. Peter Gordon was presented with the Clive Marshall trophy by Jann, Clive’s loving wife. A huge thank you for everything the lads have done for the club, we look forward to seeing them back in a black and white shirt soon!
