New measures in place at the club

As you will have no doubt heard, the government have decided to increase restrictions in all London boroughs along with Elmbridge district council. Whilst the club itself falls outside of these areas, geographically speaking, the same cannot be said of our membership, a large proportion of which live within the heightened restriction zones. It is therefore impractical and divisive to try and segregate the membership into the two levels of restriction, so we are proposing to operate on the common ground between the two.

We are still open this evening for the Bristol v Toulon match but we are now, unfortunately, closed tomorrow. Effective from Saturday 17th October the bar will now only be open on Sundays from the start of Mini training through till 8pm and the indoor seating area is now closed to all members. Additional marquee and heating facilities are being set up outside, there will be a strict ordering process and strict one way system enforced for use of the toilets and you are reminded that face coverings are still mandatory when inside the clubhouse.

On a more positive note, training and Ready4Rugby fixtures are unaffected by the current guidance and will continue as they have across all areas of the club. I would like to remind parents and supporters at training that it is important to practice good social distancing at all times, as you would elsewhere, and avoid congregating in groups whilst at the club and the rule of 6 still applies whilst on the club grounds.

Stopping the Spread
I cannot emphasise enough the importance of following the Government advice on controlling the spread, in particular the importance of not coming to the club for any reason if you or any member of your family has symptoms or has tested positive for the virus in the previous 10 days. The club is running a robust and comprehensive range of containment measures at training designed for the safety of all. However, the best way to control the virus within the club is to keep it out in the first place! So if in doubt, PLEASE STAY OUT.
