It is with great sadness that we must report the passing of past Club President, Justin Thomas, aka the Earl of Nonsuch. He was 83, and had been in declining health, but he was a central figure in the Club, making a particular contribution by organising the 1980s beer festivals, which brought the Club much-needed and substantial revenue, which met the costs of flattening the 1st XV pitch, amongst other projects. He was selfless, and everything he did was for the benefit of the Club. His were the values of a bygone age – integrity, loyalty, trustworthiness, and honour. We shall miss him.

Sutton Leapfrog Colfeians after a Lengthy Away Day
Old Colfeians 22-31 Sutton & Epsom
In bygone years this was a regular league fixture and Saturday bore witness to the sixteenth such encounter between the clubs. Old Colfeians is a club to be mentioned in whispered tones whilst in the company of James Clark’s title-winners of 2006-07. That Black & White celebrated side saw their perfect record spoiled on the club’s last venture to Horn Park in January 2007. The 2023-24 vintage may not have won this league but they headed home with a 31-22 victory and replaced the hosts in eighth place in the league table.
